Microsoft Office Groove
As described by Microsoft, "Office Groove 2007 is a collaboration software program
that helps teams work together dynamically and effectively, even if team members work for
different organizations, work remotely, or work offline. Working in Groove workspaces saves
time, increases productivity, and strengthens the quality of team deliverables."
Features:
- Create a Groove workspace right on your computer within minutes.
- All Groove workspaces, tools, and information are stored right on your computer.
- Invite your colleagues, partners, and customers without worrying about networks or servers.
- Add tools to support your team’s evolving needs: file-sharing, discussions, meetings,
business forms, and more.
The screenshot below shows a Groove workspace. On the left is a folder list for the
current files tab, the center lists the files in the selected folder, and the right shows
the people invited to the workspace. Participants are orange when "offline",
and green when online. The dialog box shows a built in instant messenger that anyone
in the workspace can use. (it's only open when you activate it).

- Work productively anywhere you’ve got your laptop, whether you’re connected
to a network or not.
- Groove automatically sends the changes you make in a workspace to your team members'
computers. And your team members' changes are sent to you each time you log onto Office
Groove 2007 while connected to the Internet. No more attaching, detaching, uploading, or
downloading!
- With built-in presence awareness, alerts, and unread marks, you know who's working on
what, when, without having to ask. You and your team spend less time coordinating and more
time working.
It's that simple. You don't need any special technical knowledge to get
started and host a workspace in Groove 2007.
