Laptop Security Tips

1. Run a secure operating system. (win 95/98/ME are not secure!)
2. Use a strong password.
3. Don't leave passwords on the computer or in the case.
4. Attach an asset tag or engrave the laptop with contact info.
5. Use a cable lock to physically secure the laptop.
6. Prevent the last logged-in user name from being displayed
7. Use a nondescript carrying case.  (One without the computer manufacturer's name or your company name on it.)
8. When flying, never check in your laptop.
9. Leave your laptop in the hotel safe, and if you must leave it in your room, use cable locks to attach it to your luggage or a piece of furniture.
10. Never leave your laptop in plain view in a vehicle.  If you must leave it in a vehicle use a cable lock to secure it to the vehicle.

How Green is your Office??

What are you doing to lessen the negative impact your business has on the planet?   I know saving the planet seems like an overwhelming task, but we can't leave it all up to Al Gore, can we?

Recycling is something you may do at home, but do you do it at the office as well?  At work you can recycle plastic and paper, your computer equipment, your ink and laserjet cartridges and your cell phones.  You can also reduce the amount of paper that you use, print on both sides of the paper, or go paperless!

Recycling is a great start, but there is more that you can do to be kind to our environment....
