Coinciding with this rate increase the USPS has introduced
the 'Forever Stamp'. This stamp, featuring a
computer-generated image of the Liberty Bell, will
always
be valid as First-Class postage on standard envelopes
weighing one ounce or less, regardless of any subsequent
increases in the First-Class rate.

"Spoofing" or
"phishing" is when bad guys try to make you believe that you
are receiving e-mail from a trusted source (ie: your bank or
ebay), when that is not the case. They are spoofing a legit
company, and they are fishing for personal information about
you. Like your social security number, date of birth,
passwords, etc.
Signs that the email is a
fake:
-
Generic greetings.
-
Emails asking you for personal information such as:
credit and debit card numbers, bank account
numbers, driver’s
license numbers, passwords, your full name, etc.
-
Links within the email that you are urged to click may
contain all or part of a real company's name and are
usually "masked," meaning that the link you see does not
take you to that address but somewhere different,
usually a phony Web site. Often cons slightly alter the
URL, or misspell the company name, for example,
www.micosoft.com.
-
Grammatical or spelling errors, or substitute characters
like “1nformati0n”.
What you can do:
If you think the email message is valid, don't follow the
link in the email. Open a new web browser, type in
the web address by hand, and perform the requested activity.
Look closely at any email about updating your account, password,
or credit card numbers. If you are going to submit personal
information on the internet, check that the website is secure.
The web address should start with "https://" (the "s" means
secure), rather than the usual "http://". This tells you that
the site is using encryption.

Searching for more ways to get your
technology to help you work
smart ....not hard.

Can't live without email...even for a
minute?
Have you ever wished you could check your email while you're
driving to an appointment, or to the office? Or while
you're wasting time at a red light? Now you can...if you
want to. There is a product about to be released called
iLane,
that is a speach-recognition software add-on for bluetooth
enabled smartphones. It is powered by the lighter port in
your vehicle and will notify you when an email arrives and
read you a summary. At that point, using voice commands,
you can listen to the entire message, reply, forward, and
sooo much more. iLane allows you to attend to your email,
calendar, and phone calls safely, while you're driving.
