We are excited to welcome our newest member of the team, Kraig Strout.  Kraig comes to us with experience in providing network solutions to the small business sector.  Just some of his experience includes solutions involving wireless networks, VPNs, network security and synchronizing mobile devices.  Kraig is filling a new position here at Network-IT, created in part due to our expanded service offerings.  Additionally, his presence increases our service capacity, enabling us to better serve our clients.

Are your employees damaging your business while they are online?

Do you know what your employees are doing online?  Or how much time they spend online?  Have you clearly defined what is acceptable internet usage for your employees?

Recent surveys show that employees spend 25% of their work day online on non-work related sites.  (That's 10 hours of a 40 hour week!!!)  Besides the loss in productivity, online surfing, downloading, and Instant Messaging puts your company at risk for virus, spyware, security breaches and lawsuits.

Whether your company is a small family business, a mid-size business or publicly traded, if you allow employees access to the Internet and email, you put your company's assets, future and reputation at risk.  Intentional abuse or accidental misuse of the Internet or email can create potentially costly legal, security and productivity issues.  In other words, a huge headache, regardless of the size of your business.

Protect your Data

If you can’t afford to go without your company data for hours – possibly even days or weeks – and you are using a tape backup system, then I urge you to read on.  The main risk of using tape backup systems is that they can malfunction, but appear to be working.  All indications are that backups were successful….but then you find out otherwise when you try and restore date.  A 2004 study found that 42% had been unable to recover data from a tape at least once in the previous year

That’s why thousands of businesses lose millions of dollars worth of data to disasters like fires, power outages, theft, equipment failure, and even human error.  Among companies that lose data in a disaster, 50% never reopen and 90% are out of business within 2 years of losing their data.  In almost every case, these businesses had some type of backup system in place, but were horrified to find out it wasn’t working when they needed it most.

With technological advances we are able to offer you an alternative to tape.  A solution that is secure and automated!
