Microsoft Critical Patch Released |
Microsoft released critical patch on
Oct. 23rd to resolve a vulnerability in
the server service.
 If
you have a network with computers
running Microsoft operating systems, you
are at risk. This newly discovered bug
makes it possible for a hacker to wreak
havoc on the computer without your
involvement. Meaning, you don't have to
open a bogus email or go to a
questionable website. Your system is
infiltrated without your input and often
without your knowledge. The most
vulnerable versions of Windows are XP,
2000 and Server 2003. Microsoft
considers the bug important enough to
issue the patch immediately, rather than
waiting for their standard once-a-month
release, known as "Patch Tuesday".
We have updated all those affected
computers for our Service Plan clients.
If you are not a service plan client,
please make arrangements to have this
security patch installed on your
computers.
