Network-IT's Employee Joins Middletown's Education Technology Committee
(PRWeb) November 20, 2006 - Christine King has been with Network-IT for over a year now
and has recently joined the Middletown Board of Education Technology Committee. With a daughter
in the Middletown school system and an interest in technology, Chris is looking forward to
working with the committee and implementing the Technology Committee's plan.
The goal of the Educational Technology department in the Middletown Public Schools is to
enrich the classroom by empowering teachers to infuse technologies that will enhance instruction.
As a matter of necessity, each student in Middletown must be prepared to meet the technological
challenges of our contemporary society.
The Technology Committee aims to provide the best possible education for Middletown students
and seamlessly infuse technology at all grade levels. To accomplish this, the committee works
diligently to implement professional development for staff, ensure that students receive
both direct and indirect instruction in the use of computer technology and assess the skill
level of student technology use.
The state of Connecticut requires that each school prepare its students to function in our
technology-rich society, and as a result of the Technology Committee, the Middletown Public
School system is ready to meet that challenge. The committee is responsible for bringing
computers and the Internet into the classrooms, has introduced the use of smartboards in
classes, has educated teachers on how to create an online classroom and has created virtual
classes.
Network-IT provides network design, support and proactive
monitoring for Connecticut businesses.
